The summer market beside the harbour was in full swing on my latest visit to Helsinki. I have been in winter when a few tents huddle against the cold, but my last day in the city was bright and sunny and everyone was outside enjoying the weather.
The summer produce looked great.
Flowers are always a hit.
Pretty summer dresses for sale for little girls.
And things made from wood.
There are lots of places to eat delicious salmon and potatoes.
Helsinki’s beautiful mermaid keeps an eye on everyone.

How do you like those flat peaches, Debra? The ones in Amsterdam taste as flat as they look. Convenient for the people who have to stack them, but not much room inside for flavour.
I have eaten them in Italy and they are really delicious. I didn’t try the Finnish ones.

Helsinki is a wonderful city, full of gorgeous Art Nouveau buildings and beautiful parks.

Hi there – does any one know the name of the ‘pretty summer dresses’ in the above picture as we bought one 2 years ago and it is my daughters favourite – i would like to buy another but can’t remember the name of the website or shop….does anyone know?
