Eliel Saarinen won the competition to design the Helsinki railway station in 1904. It is made in Finnish granite. It was originally to be designed in the Finnish romantic style, but Saarinen changed his original design.
200,000 people pass through the station every day.
The 2 pairs of stone men and the clock tower are particularly distinctive.
The interior is also impressive.
I love the details in the wall decoration.
From the glass covered platforms you can travel all over Finland and on to Russia.
I think it is a beautiful building.
