I was able to go inside on my last trip. The interior is filled with gold…much more elaborate than the other churches in Helsinki.

I was just in Helsinki, the pictures can be found via the “Baltic” menu button in the header of my blog if you have time. I like that shot of the exterior very much.
I will be back in Helsinki in a few weeks. I love the city. I will certainly look at your photos. Thank you for you comments.
I really loved Helsinki too. I would like to go back there myself.
WOW! This is great church, dear Debra, especially number 12 fascinated me. Thank you, have a nice weekend and journeys, love, nia
The interior is very lavish and interesting.
Isn’t the architecture and the craftsmanship astounding. Whatever one’s feelings are about religion, I’m sure those buildings inspire awe – which I guess is what was intended.
The church is very impressive. I think the money would have been better spent elsewhere, but I can appreciate the magnificence.
